Day 9: Your definition of love

The L word.. L-O-V-E…..I’m a sure everyone has an idea of what it means…but yet at the same times its one of the hardest things to define….

Wikipedia explains love as: Love is the emotion of strong affection and personal attachment. In philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. In religious context, love is not just a virtue, but the basis for all being (“God is love”), and the foundation for all divine law (Golden Rule).

So that’s the theoretical meaning….let me try and explain how I view love…in order to Love someone or something ….we have to first appreciate the person for what they are, which means accepting them with their faults and flaws and loving them at any size shape….distance does not lessen the love…but in deed makes the heart grow fonder….

Do you know what Love is? I asked Zainey only last weekend, as he tells me he does some many times and for no reason, he says love is being rough Mummy….and proceeds to jump on back and play horsey….to us playing horsey is a physical annoyance..but to a 4 year old…it takes trust…..he wouldn’t play horsey with someone he doesn’t trust….

Everyone has different ways of expressing their love…but loving someone all results in similar actions, sacrifice to me is the strongest evidence of love. Sacrifice leads to other actions caring, giving, kindness…. you know them all…..

So love to me is demonstrative of all those actions together… Love in any language….though the pronunciation may change…the action is very much the same..
